| Dartford Aquatics was launched
in July 2000 with plans to turn this 50/50 pets and fish shop
into one of the countries leading fish shops.
To do this we had to refurbish the entire shop. This took
3 years to do and as a result Practical Fishkeeping Magazine
readers in 2003 voted us the best aquatic shop in the East
of England. This made us very proud to think that our customers
thought that of us.
Since 2003, we have built a planted area that consists of
over 20 ft of plant tank, housing more than 300 plants covering
50 different species.
All of these plants are brought over from Tropica who in
my opinion sell the best plants in the world. One look at
their plants and you wouldn’t want any other brand.
Dennerle are the worlds leading company in as far as a natural
aquarium can be achieved. With outstanding products such as
the Boden-Fluter and the Comfort-Line CO2 range, you really
cannot go wrong.
We are currently building a new soft-water system that will
house Discus, huge shoals of tetra’s, many species of
Corydoras and many rare ‘L’ numbers.
In November 2005, we bought our 2nd shop and named it Sidcup
Aquatics. Since November, we have transformed the front half
of the shop into a new dry goods area and we are currently
changing the tropical systems into three 900-litre systems
and five 450-litre systems. We have built a 32 square foot
coral system and we are currently building a 4,000 litre fish
only system.
We have also opened up our pond section. At the moment the
system currently holds 2000 gallons but we have plans to increase
this up to 10,000 gallons for the summer of 2006. We are also
planning to open up two tank and cabinet show rooms with brands
such as Seabray, Eheim, and Jewel amongst others to be on
display.
In both shops, our aim is to provide the highest quality
service to all of our customers.
We always encourage all fish keepers to test their aquarium
water and adjust the water parameters according to the fish
that they keep. The testing of the aquarium water not only
helps fish live more comfortably through their lives, but
you also enjoy keeping fish more.
